Jackie

Have I told you about Jackie?

I'll never forget her or this story.

I love to be a cheerleader. My mom will even tell you that when I was a little girl, my dream was to grow up and be one.

That wish came true because that is one part of my job when I teach yoga. Sometimes I get 75 people in one class, and it's impossible to know everyone's name. There are people that I know so much about, but I don't know their names. I know how they move, and if they believe in themselves or not, I can see how much they want it. Or how much they don't. The practice reveals so much.

When I'm teaching a yoga class, I get excited and cheer on my students by calling them out, "Hey, Chris! YESS!" Or, "Wow!!! Kirsten, look at how strong you are!"

One day after class, a woman who often comes to my class (she's been attending class for years) approached me with a passionate disappointment. I could feel my heart racing as she approached. Then she stopped right in front of me, and she looked me right in the eyes and said boldly, "Hey. My name is Jackie, and I want you to call me out in class!"

Taken back by her bravery, I paused and asked myself, "Am I willing to love Jackie in the way she's requesting?" The answer was a hell YES! Then, of course, I can show up in that way for her.

I want her to feel loved by me; I'm so glad she told me how to do it.

By the way, the answer is not always a hell yes for every request someone makes of me. This is called boundaries.

In this case, I loved it so much that Jackie was willing to advocate for herself and ask me if I could show up for her by calling out her name in class.

I LOVE Jackie for that!

Ask for what you need, friends! Let me tell you this: most people are not Jackie. Most people won't ask for what they need, and because of that, they won't get what they desire.

Every time I call out Jackie, she's all smiles. She feels SEEN and loved.

I see YOU.

I see your desire to grow.

Evolution is your birthright.

I want to teach you the power of your voice so that you can fiercely approach life and all that comes with it with a brave ASK.

A brave YES and a brave NO.

Are you ready to feel :

+ emotional available

+ grounded

+ self-esteem

+ self-love

+ boundaries

+ courage

+ strength and softness with yourself

+ confidence in your communication

+ safe and secure in your relationships

The work we do in my one-on-one coaching is THIS WORK!

It's the work that connects us together and leads us towards empathy and vulnerability with ourselves and the people around us.
