RELEASE.

I had a really great therapist in my early twenties that told me something that I will never forget. She said, "Diana, nobody can give you an orgasm but you."

Those words went through my ears and dropped like a bowling ball as they landed in my stomach. That’s the moment I felt it. I felt what she had just given me was the truth.  I knew it because of the way it resonated in my body. The body knows. It was uncomfortable to feel and it was not what I wanted to hear but it was everything I needed. It was the truth.

Looking back, I am so grateful for those words and for her because she taught me a huge thing about power. She showed me how I was giving my power away and she gave me a truth that I could forever reach for in my life: we release ourselves. No one can do that for us.

What she said about orgasms is the same for any RELEASE. In yoga and in our bodies, we release ourselves. From a thought or a habit, we release ourselves. From our past and from our worry about the future, we release ourselves.

Whether you are releasing a creative project, a new business, or the need to be seen… you must release yourself. If you are letting go of a fear or changing a belief pattern, you have to release yourself. To heal or release trauma in the body, we are our own healers, we release ourselves.

In addition, I believe there are two very important powers you must hold within yourself for a release to occur. One is vulnerability and the other is worthiness. If you can allow yourself to be vulnerable and stand in your value, then you can let go.

I believe in us to do both.
