You & I are Both So Strong.
Let me tell you a story.
When my mother wants to remind me that I’m strong, she tells me my birth story.
We were separated right after my premature birth, she was in one hospital and I was in another. She said she touched me only once before I was taken away.
From her hospital bed she would call to check on me each day. I wasn’t breathing on my own and needed oxygen. One day when she called she had told the nurse she was worried about my oxygen levels. She said the nurse immediately said this with absolute conviction: “She’s a fighter. She’s gonna make it. You don’t have to worry about her.”
My mom tells me that I’m a fighter with that same conviction every time she says it. Out of all the stories she could have shared with me, I love her for choosing this one.
We all have a story of how we’ve risen above our circumstances with the power of our inner strength and I want to invite you to share yours with me.
Write back soon.
